  • Nikon announces release of My Picturetown app for Android – The app for using my Picturetown (http://mypicturetown.com), Nikon’s image sharing and storage service, from an Android device.  This app can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play™ and can provide expanded support for image sharing, organization, and storage.
  • Sigma announces 3 new lenses, one in each of its newly created product categories – Sigma announced it will brand its lenses in three categories and has introduced a new lens in each of the categories. The ‘Contemporary’ range will cover compact, flexible zooms, such as the new, smaller 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC OS Macro designed for APS-C DSLRs. The ‘Art’ range will include lenses such as primes, wide-angles and macros, and a new 35mm F1.4 DG HSM covering a full-frame imaging circle. And the ‘Sports’ range will cover Sigma’s telephoto primes, telephoto zooms and superzooms, such as the new 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM.
  • Canon Live Learning to host Wild West photography event – EOS Workshops help photographers get this most of out of their Canon EOS DSLR. This is a destination one, held in Moab Utah October 20-21 2012. Join award-winning adventure photographer Tyler Stableford in the heart of Utah’s canyon country: explore the magnificent landscapes of Arches National Park, find unique ways to capture the sandstone monoliths, shoot action scenes and environmental portraits with authentic cowboys, explore a vineyard alongside the Colorado River. Tyler will provide detailed classroom instruction before each shoot, and will share his secrets to capturing the elusive “dramatic moment”. The workshop is limited to 16 students to enhance the learning experience.
