  • UK: Terry O’Neil Awards 2012 calls for entries Given since 2007, the Terry O’Neill Award is aimed at finding new talent and creating a platform for upcoming photographers. The award is unusual in that it is narrative based: photographers must enter a minimum of 3 pictures. Categories include fine art, photo-journalism, still-life portraiture, landscape, wildlife, and fashion.  First prize is £3000. Judging will be on December 9 2012, and a selection of shortlisted photographers’ work will be published in a special feature in London’s Sunday Times Magazine. See for more information.
  • Nikon updates firmware to Nikkor VR 10-30mm & 30-110mm lenses – The updates to the Nikon 1 lenses allow users to turn the camera on and off by locking the lens barrel.  The update will only work on Nikon 1 cameras released after August 2012.  Download and install the update via Nikon’s support website.
  • Adobe releases new versions of Camera Raw and Lightroom software to support a wider range of cameras The update includes support for the Canon EOS 650D / Rebel T4i, Canon EOS M, Fuji FinePix F800EXR, Leaf Credo 40, Leaf Credo 60, Nikon 1 J2, Panasonic DMC-FZ200, Panasonic DMC-G5, Panasonic DMC-LX7, Pentax K-30, and Sony DSC-RX100.  Both updates are available to download from the Adobe Labs.
