Autumn Advice
Stanley Horowitz once said “winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all”. Andy goldwarthy’s works seem to portray this saying in an amazing natural way.
Here are 4 things you can do to optimize your autumn sets outside:
1. Start shooting just before sunset; the lightning conditions provide a soft atmosphere and golden dimness.
2. Contrasts, contrasts and again contrasts. Nothing more powerful than a bright red leaf against a grey cloud.
3. Polarizer filter is a must! The saturation of colors that you get with one of these is accurate and help to achieve a crisp feeling while decreasing some of the haze that is autumn typical.
4. Eat pumpkin! It’s very tasty .

Those two items are completely different – one is a stills camera with a giant CMOS sensor, lens interchangablilty and HD video capture, while the other is an HD camcorder with an optical video lens. If all you’re doing is shooting video and you don’t need a deep depth of field, definitely go with a camcorder.
